I saw this on my dash and the girl (very wisely) changed her tumblr name, otherwise I’d be sending this straight to her. But as this is a reoccurring issue with “Team Breezy” people, I’ll just post it publicly. 

First of all, sit down and shut up. Second of all, take notes. 

These two cases are ENTIRELY different and I will tell your preteen asses why. 

Chris Brown beat the living fuck out of his girlfriend. Sure he admitted to it; he couldn’t really deny it considering the proof was all over Rihanna’s bruised and bloodied face. Sure he apologized for it; PR was probably all over his ass. Sure she “forgave” him; people in the public eye generally try to dismiss controversy as soon as possible as to not soil their career. Whether or not she ended up hooking back up with him or whatever is her business (even though if she did, it’s pretty foolish in my opinion, but unfortunately abused women do have a tendency to go crawling back to their abusers due to some psychological issue). For the record, when I googled “Why do abused people forgive abusers?” to try to find the actual name for said psychological issue, “Why do abused people forgive Chris Brown?” comes up on auto search. So yeah. It’s good that she forgave him and that she was able to move on from it, but the comparisons to Michael Jackson are just so not right that it’s infuriating. 

Anyway, the difference in this argument is Chris Brown DID beat up his girlfriend, whereas Michael Jackson was accused of molestation and acquitted. Using the cute little message up there as a template: Michael never admitted to it (because it didn’t happen), and he never apologized for it (because there was nothing to apologize for). No child ever came out and said Michael Jackson touched them inappropriately; they actually denied it and refused to testify against him. Their parents made these disgusting claims as a way of extorting money from Michael (it’s also relevant to mention that a few weeks after Michael died, the initial accuser, Evan Chander, killed himself - presumably out of guilt), but you don’t have to listen to me. There are pages and pages of court transcripts  as well as plenty of other information (which I was kind enough to compile for people not willing do just do the research on their own) not found on the cover of The Enquirer or talked about on E! News that I would suggest reading before you ignorantly slander someone’s name. 

So yes, people do continue to praise Michael Jackson for his talent and contribution to music and dance and humanity because it was never proven that he did anything wrong. And people continue to hate on Chris Brown because he beat the fucking shit out of his girlfriend. And I will continue to hate on Chris Brown and comment on what a piece of shit he is. Not because I’m cruel or I’m a “hater,” but because there are thousands upon thousands of women that get physically and emotionally abused by the men they love and treating Chris Brown like “it’s no big deal dawg, you said sorry” is spreading the wrong message to abusive men and abused women all over the world. This is not okay.

Food for thought: go the fuck away with your ignorance. All Chris Brown does is rip off MJ, anyway.
